Scheduling with Queue Constraints

Scheduling with Queue Constraints (SQC) maintains the number of work orders within a specific limit to manage physical space constraints or limited transport capacities on the production floor.

  • Capacity-Based Job Entry: The planning engine activates work orders until the defined queue limit (e.g., 6 jobs) is reached and stops accepting new jobs until space becomes available.
  • Locked Queue Logic: The system prevents new work orders from being planned until all operation steps of the current group are completed, ensuring the physical area is cleared.
  • Controlled Flow Management: This structure prevents uncontrolled accumulation of work on the shop floor and eliminates station-based bottlenecks, ensuring a predictable production flow.
