Non-Preemptive Operation Definitions
Non-Preemptive Operation Definitions (NPOD) ensures that production operations are completed without interruption once started. This feature checks whether a job can be completed without machine downtime, shift end, or planned/unplanned interruptions during the planned duration before it is started.
- Non-Preemptive Execution: Operations are scheduled to be completed without being stopped once started. Jobs that would be interrupted due to shift end or machine downtime are not included in the planning.
- Pre-Start Eligibility Check: Whether the job can run uninterrupted for the planned duration is checked before it is started. If there is no suitable time slot, the operation is postponed to the next available period.
- Maintaining Operation Continuity: This approach increases operational efficiency and process reliability by reducing unplanned waits and the need for re-setup in the production process.
